Four Pages of Cameron Stewart's 'Batman and Robin'

We gave everybody the 'head's up' back in November that the talented Seaguy and Seven Soldiers penciller Cameron Stewart would be joining his former collaborator Grant Morrison on DC Comics' flagship Batman and Robin this January, when the series returns after a December hiatus. Since, we've learned that Stewart's artistic skills will focus on the Caped Crusader and his new Boy Wonder for just a three-issue run. Our hope was that Stewart would be sticking around a bit longer, but his three month stay is in keeping with his predecessors. Series launch artist Frank Quietly and then Philip Tan both departed the Dynamic Duo after a three-issue arc, and it's likely DC's structured the 'Batman: Reborn' title around that schedule.
While Batman and Robin #7 won't hit until the end of January, Newsarama's provided us with Stewart's cover and the first three pages of the comic, and we've in turn posted them to the comicsblog for your enjoyment. Stewart's lines really make their best impression once fully-colored, but the test of all good comics art is how it looks in black and white. That said, we're liking what we see, and we've got no doubt that the finished product will be a read well worth the wait.
abbracadabbling has even more Batman and Robin news -- plus our recap of the several major announcements DC Comics has made the last few days -- coming up soon. Look for our DC 2010 postings Sunday and Monday right here, on your favorite comicsblog!
