Twelve Guys Succeeding At The Super Hero Game
The 48th Annual Springfield Easter Egg Hunt begins in just over an hour, so, in an unexpected twist and turn of events, the Home Office has decided to dabble-down the comicsblog early. Our (surviving) staff was aces with The Joker last week, and 'sides, even the most intrepid Springfield abbracadabblers deserves a treat every now and then. But before we hop along to the festivities, hoopla, and all-around holiday hi-jinx -- and the never-ending quest for a sugar high -- we're bringing a bit of spice to the blog.
Chris Evans, Ryan Reynolds, Chris Hemsworth, Justin Hartley... The names go on, but it's a short list of Hollywood's hottest. And they're not just hot; they're super. Why? Because we've all harbored the deep-down secret desire to be a super hero - and the twelve actors on the blog today count among the select few that succeeded. Aside from their undeniable good looks, does this dozen have more in common than meets the eye? Are the heroes they play on TV or the silver screen simply parts to our boys, or do they feel they're a part of something bigger? If they have what it takes, do you? And are your chances even better if your name is 'Chris'?
All food for thought...Which reminds us, we're running late for a very important date. We hope your Easter is a basket of fun, too; we've got you off to a good start with twelve right here. Sure, these dudes may not be as tasty as chocolate bunnies, but they are most definitely eye candy. Indulge your sweet tooth.

WOLVERINE Is The People's Choice
If the day ever comes when abbracadabbling's confused for TMZ rather than CBR, The Dabbler will renounce his near-complete collection of The Uncanny X-Men, okay? So don't worry, loyal dabblers, we have no intention of going glam. But we did want to take this relatively early opportunity to blog props to Hugh Jackman for his win at yesterday's People's Choice Awards 2010.
The Nokia Theatre ceremony doesn't make airwaves until tomorrow (check your local listings, natch), but by that time everyone will know Hugh brought home the Award for being the People's Choice Favorite Action Star of 2009. Despite the fact X-Men Origins: Wolverine
didn't super-thrill us, Jackman's performance couldn't have been any better. The dude is Old Man Logan, and if you've ever wondered if people realized that, we're here to tell you, people do.
Hugh/Wolverine beat out fellow nominees Christian Bale (not for Batman), Gerard Butler, Shia LaBeouf, and Vin Diesel for the honor, so the competition was pretty stiff. Our favorite X-Man didn't snikkt the show's top title for Favorite Movie Actor, though, that award going to the always-awesome Johnny Depp.
If you've got a five free minutes tomorrow, Hugh's acceptance speech would be worth your DVR dime. He's looking mighty dapper, bub. The rest of the show's very miss-able; Twilight takes home a few too many trophies and we're embarrassed enough for those folks as it is.

WOLVERINE Bootlegger Gets Busted, But...?
Just yesterday, I was skimming through a review of an allegedly leaked copy of the Transformers 3 script over at Comic Book Movie , which of course got me thinking less about the future Michael Bay project and more about last spring's big leak of Fox Studio's X-MEN ORIGINS: Wolverine. Not the script, mind you, but a high-quality, full-length version of the actual film, available as so many links on several bit torrent sites across the web, with over 75,000 hits after just two days.
I'd been wondering what follow-up there'd been on that, if any, but maybe mutant mid-reading powers had kicked-in without my knowing it. This morning, Entertainment Weekly reported that the FBI arrested the guy responsible for the illegal Wolverine upload in the Bronx last Friday. Gilberto Sanchez has been charged with violation of copyright law and faces three years in jail and will owe 20th Century Fox at least $250,000 in earnings damages.
Whoa! This isn't the whole story though; it's not the most interesting -- or even most relevant - part of it. I'd like to know who supplied the torrent offender with the movie in the first place? The real blame lies there, and considering how closely guarded rough cuts of any potential Summer blockbuster are, it's hard not to believe it wasn't an inside job. If Sanchez has any ties to the studio, they've not been revealed, and no mention of other investigations has been made.
Like Glenn Beck and Fox News demonstrate daily, getting any real news out is next to impossible compared to leaking a high-security superhero bootleg. Fox shouldn't persecute Sanchez; they should hire him.
