As if last night wasn't clear enough, ladies and geeks, your favorite comicsblog -- abbracadabbling -- is back to the blogosphere. We feel great, although jumping back into the saddle is a little bit daunting. We've missed two weeks, thanks to a rather nasty virus called APPro that completely overtook the Springfield Home Office's well-guarded computer network. Obviously not as well-guarded as we thought, eh?
APPro shut us down for just about a week and a half. We used the time to the best of our advantage, though, which you already may have noticed. New advertising (of what passes for it here LOL) which we're actually pretty pumped about -- one of the newest at the top of this very blog. But that's just the start of it.
First off, Springfield's Home Office doubled in size. That's right, dabblers. The extra office space was sorely needed, and we've expanded to give ourselves room to grow, think, and create. You'll notice the effects more subtly than we all do, but our spirits are higher than ever and working to bring you the best is just that much more of a daily joy.
We also gave some serious thought as to how we were going to make this triumphant return, and we've got several neat ideas that you'll see appearing right here over the next couple of days. At the top of that list was our decision to jump right into the Holiday season. We'd wanted to introduce our new Top 10 lists before ht month even began, so we're already running late. You'll see those early next week.
Also next week, we begin our twice weekly contest -- the Winter One-derland giveaways -- and the first begins this Monday, then every Monday and Friday through January 1st. As we approach the New Year, it's a great time to begin reading comic books (if you don't already do that!) and if you're an established reader (as we hope you are), then why not pick up a new series and give it a try? Winter One-derland will feature a new title each day -- recent ongoing or limited series like Marvel's new Web of Spider-Man or Spiderwoman, Dark Horse Comics' Citizen Rex, and even truly indy titles like Mangalicious Tick from New England Comics. In fact, just about every comics publisher has at least one title in our One-derland mix, so keep an eye out for your favorite to pop up. We'll be giving away fabulous FIRST ISSUES of these series and plenty of others to ONE LUCKY DABBLER every Monday and Friday -- all you'll have to do is write in to win. More details this Monday, December 7th, 2009.
And that's really just the start of the fun. What's next? You'll find out. Just like we found out from watching Millionaire last week that our little comicsblog is really getting around. Meredith Vieira just thrilled at our blog's name (don't you??) and we were psyched to learn that DC Comics' loves abbracadabbling even more than we'd thought. Who knew!? We've got a screen capture of the winning question. More to come!
